The Director of the Order of the Lily and the Eagle formally declares that the Order has no relation whatever with any other Order, Society, Brotherhood or other initiatic or social Collectivity of any kind.

Free and independent, the Order of the Lily and the Eagle bestows Rosicrucian grades next to its own initiatic ones, and declares that these grades do not belong to any association existing on Earth, and that they are merely stages of evolution of the human being in the domain of Initiation.

In fact a Rose-Cross is not a member of a particular Brotherhood or Association. He/she is the being who has attained the state of Rose-Cross through personal moral (of Love) and spiritual (of Wisdom) evolution.

The various Rosicrucian grades given in the Order are simply stages through which a person manages to live the state of Rose-Cross.

We have borrowed these stages of grades from an ancient Brotherhood, which has ceased to exist a long time since.

The Direction has deemed it its duty to clarify this, so that all AMBIGUITY may CEASE, and so as to affirm once again the independence and freedom of personality both collectively for the Order, and individually for its members.
